This year has already started, in Jan, I was in already in production meeting for " Here at the Start-UP" and then in Feb I was asked to direct an event " What do the 92% have to Say" for the Uptown Collective. I am excited to see what comes next!...

What a Year! 

WeatherVane Theater- my first time directing in Whitefield NH at the longs-standing theater WeatherVane and the first time directing the work of Dominque Morriseau.  July 3-July18th! Was nominated for Broadway World award for Best Director for a New Hampshire production.

My first understudy role and it's a Lynne Nottage play Fabulation or the Reducation of Udine. Mother Track May 16th  7:30pm and May 17th 2:00p and 7:30p My first time in a Audelco Nominated Production

Television 

I finally had my rite of passage as New York actress..a role on the flagship  Law and Order... Season 24 on Episode 5 as foster mother Lynisha Austin. It was a little surreal walking those iconics halls with "dun..dun" in my head!

So excited to have been part of the inaugural new season of the new BET+ Diarra from Detroit!   Episode 2 as the Marketing Executive at the Divorce Party sharing my wisdom about the brothas!- My first time in an 2025  NAACP IMage award for Best Comedy Series. 

I enjoyed a fun run in the PowerBook Universe and now I have joined the heavenly realms..or have I?.  Epic Raising Kanan Bow on episodes 306 and episode 307 #raisingkanan #scrappysmom #shantel 

Film
An Angry boy filmed in 2021... as Jenna Anderson, the mother of the co-lead  was released in 2024 and now is available on Tubi and Prime Video. My second horror film to be on Tubi and Prime Video... am I scream queen yet? 

2023
​Theater:  Excited to have directed my first Afro-futuristic play and outdoor performance! Aug 24-26. 

Television:
Diarra from Detroit- filmed an episode on this new BET+ program look for it coming out later this year
Power Book 3: Raising Kanan- look for your favorite card dealing/avenging  Momma on the season 3 

Film:
Displaced-  my first feature horror film on Prime. You can now witness  me being a new reporter with a secret...remember it's an indie so... also for FREE ON TUBI

So excited to be part of The Civilians's project Black Feminist Video game. Winner of International Academy of Digital Sciences Anthem Award 2021 of Diversity and Inclusion .

Writing 
First year published in 2 publications. Chicken Soup for the Soul " I'm Speaking Now"  my essay an "Abundance of Love"  and The Applied Improvisation Mindset detailing my work with Dr. Holmes with Improvscience using theatre techniques with graduate school scientists at Harvard University.

The Tiny Plays 
So excited to announce The Tiny Plays of the  Quarantine was commissioned by Wellesley College student company-Upstage. Friday Dec. 4 
I was so excited to have my first "tiny play" to be accepted by the Little Red Theater of Minneapolis, Minn. ( yes the hometown of Prince) Quarantine festival. Each play was 600 words or less and there 25 plays included from all over the world.  You can read all of them for free, right here. It was a wonderful email to receive. My second project with Failure Island after Scholarshare 529, a promo for the ThankView some wacky fun!
My first web commercial spokesperson for Scholar Share 529 a series of vignettes exploring their options. A great program and I think the spokesmodel is not so bad herself!

the feature that I filmed last year ( wow 2019 who knew) 
has been accepted into the Salem Horror Fest, one of many we are looking forward to!

The Calling TV 
The webseries I filmed last year, is finally alive enjoy  6 episodes of twitter friendly viewing. Each episodes is less than 15min. In the midst of so much world weariness enjoy some world funny! Enjoy!

Oct 27th-Dissecting Civil Rights Festival- so excited to be one of 3 directors that are part of this festival looking at the complexities of civil rights. Stories explore buying flowers for a same sex union to the politics of school admissions! My pieces include Quick Stop at the Florist and You Got Privilege! @ The Tank Theater 


Aug 22 -Performed in the role of HELEN in the short play "Mamma Won't Stay Dead" by  Eugene O'Neil Playwright Finalist Charlotte Higgins. This is was part of the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival at the Vineyard Theater 

June 22- One Minute Festival;- I am one of the actors that was invited to participate in the Stonewall 50 one minute theater festival at the Queens Theater! ​

 June 9-16 -"her,him,prince,michael and marvin" aka love is love is love was selected as one of 4 finalist to receive a week long play development with the Quicksilver Theater Co.  in Geneva, NY. This amazing, affirming week-long residency included room and board and a stipend. It was directed by the vibrant Bianca Laverne-Jones and the joined playwrights  Liz Morgan, Rhonda Khan and Ayesis Clay. It was truly a magical time.

Excited to announce I was cast as "Camilla Clay" in the independent feature " Displaced"! An exciting role that is quite a departure for me. Releases in Winter 2020

2017  Just finished filming as  "Bridget" for the short film No Lies Told Then written by Tori Oats. The most adorable child actor as my offspring. Now in post production!
